History

Illini Community Health Care Foundation (ICHCF) was organized in January of 2003.  At that time Illini Community Hospital was conveyed to BlessingCare Corporation of Quincy. Since that time ICHCF has functioned as an independent not-for-profit 501c(3) public charity governed by a volunteer led Board of Directors.

As Pike County’s only foundation solely focused on the health needs of its residents, they have established two grant programs providing support for health and wellness initiatives, funds for organizational capacity building, the John S. Teuscher Health Scholarship Program offering educational opportunities to those pursuing health occupations, and have been involved with numerous health collaborative efforts and community partnerships.

In October 2010, they changed their name to the Health and Wellness Foundation of Pike County (HWFPC), to more accurately reflect an interest in wellness in conjunction with our ongoing focus on health care.
